It started the way most of this does — with headphones, a laptop that could barely handle the plugins, and too many late nights chasing a feeling instead of a finished track. Cape Town's coastline taught me what a sunset sounds like long before I knew how to make one in a DAW.

What's followed has been less about chasing a sound and more about chasing the moment a stranger messages to say a track was playing when something in their life changed. That's the whole project, really — not the releases or the shows, but the soundtrack underneath someone else's memory.

These days that means studio sessions that start at golden hour and don't end until sunrise, radio shows recorded wherever the view is good, and a community of people who've started sending their own stories back. MXR isn't really mine anymore — it's whatever you've made it mean.
